Case Study – Valvoline Instant Oil Change Facilities
When the owner of several local Valvoline Instant Oil Change franchises needed to restore the cracked and stained concrete floors of his drive-through facilities, he turned to the pros at Inteli-Shield Floor Coatings. “We were able to get in and out fast and work around their business hours,” owner Rick Brown recalls. “They don’t like to have to close down for any time at all, so scheduling was a real challenge.” To accommodate the tight schedule, the Inteli-Shield team would work on one bay at a time, finishing the entire job within a couple of days.
The Inteli-Shield floor specialists first prepped the concrete floor by diamond-grinding the surface. They used HEPA filters to contain the dust created by this process. Then they covered the concrete with a thick base coat and applied the epoxy topcoat. Once the coating cures, it is impervious to oil, gas, and chemicals and can withstand the wear and tear of all the heavy vehicular traffic moving through the bays, making this the ideal flooring solution for the Valvoline Instant Oil Change facilities. The floors were also easy to clean and looked far better than the original concrete.
The owner was so pleased with the results that he has had Inteli-Shield replace the floors in four of his drive-through shops to date. Each was between 2,000 and 2,500 square feet and now sport attractive, durable, slip-resistant, and low-maintenance floors.
